The Boulton Paul Balliol and Sea Balliol were monoplane military advanced trainer aircraft built for the Royal Air Force (RAF) and the Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm (FAA) by Boulton Paul Aircraft. Developed in the late 1940s the Balliol was designed to replace the North American Harvard trainer and used the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine, with the Sea Balliol a naval version for deck landing training. Kit features well detailed side-by-side cockpit, boxed-in wheel wells, separate exhaust stack strips, individually molded propeller blades and 1-piece injection-molded canopy. Also includes resin parts (seats, control sticks, cockpit consoles and chin radiator), photo-etch parts (seatbelts, instrument panel, cockpit fittings and gear doors) plus film instruments. Decals and color painting reference for (4) RAF aircraft: WG128 of No 7 FTS at Cottsmore, 1953; WN507 at RAF College Cranwell, 1954; WG118 of No 7 FTS at Cottsmore, 1953 and VR592 at the National Air Races during early 1950.
