Plastic model aircraft kit of the Vought F-8 Crusader (originally F8U). Single-engine, supersonic, carrier-based air superiority jet aircraft built by Vought for the United States Navy and Marine Corps, replacing the Vought F7U Cutlass, and for the French Navy. The first F-8 prototype was ready for flight in February 1955, served principally in the Vietnam War.
Kit has (Hasegawa plastic) with engraved panel lines, well appointed cockpit, optional seated pilot figure, Brassin (ejection seat and wheels), separate trailing edge flaps (optional up/down), optional (canopy and speed brake), detailed J75-P-5A engine with afterburner thrust, detailed wheel wells and optional undercarriage, side fuselage mounted Y-pylons, underwing pylon stations, mask, photoetch (instrument panel, consoles, seatbelts and other seat accents, other cockpit interior, canopy, undercarriage, exterior accents).
