Developed in the early 1940s, the P-80 Shooting Star was a few months too late to partake in the Second World War. This aircraft designed by the brilliant Clarence �Kelly� Johnson was the first jet fighter used by the United States Army Air Forces. Despite not being able join combat during World War II, the P-80 proved its worth during the Korean War where it flew air-to-ground and air-to-air sorties. The Shooting Star scored several victories against North Korean aircraft.
This handcrafted model is painted in the same paint scheme as the original and is painstakingly built from Philippine mahogany by our skilled craftsmen. Perfect as a gift for any aviation enthusiast and history buff!
