1/48 scale. I-153 Chaika. World War II Soviet Biplane Fighter. ICM. The Russian Polikarpov I-153 Chaika was a late 1930s Soviet biplane fighter. Developed as an advanced version of the I-15 with a retractable undercarriage, the I-153 fought in the Soviet-Japanese combats in Mongolia and was one of the Soviets' major fighter types in the early years of the Second World War. Kit has engraved panel lines, raised and recessed surface features, subtle fabric-on-frame effects, detailed cockpit, one-piece windscreen, one-piece two-blade propeller with separate spinner, raised relief radial engine face, separate rudder and cowling panels, underwing bombs (x4), boxed-in wheel wells with optional undercarriage. Decals and markings for four (4) aircraft: 70th IAP Fighter Regiment, Khalhin-Gol, August 1939; 15th IAP Fighter Regiment, Lithuania, June 1941; 72nd SAP Mixed Regiment, Nord Fleet Air Force, Vaenga 1941 and Captain K.V. Soloviyev, 71st Fighter Regiment, Baltic Fleet Air Force, Lavansaari, Summer 1942 - includes cockpit gauges and markings.
