Overview

1/48 scale. Grumman A-6A Intruder. HobbyBoss. The Cold War-era Grumman A-6 Intruder was designed as the replacement of the A-1 Skyraider. It's the first all-weather attack aircraft of the US Navy. The aircraft were called the A2F before 1962 and got the new name, the A-6 Intruder, in service. The outstanding all-weather capability soon made the A-6 the main strike force of the Navy and Marines, and devoted into the Vietnam War. The A-6A were equipped with the DIANE system, which the most advanced navigation / targeting system at that time. But the problems of the reliability were solved after few years. There are 480 A-6As were built and 47of them were upgrade to other type. Over 510  parts, detailed fuselage & wing with accurate design, detailed cockpit, metal undercarriage and photo etched parts.

Finally - Tadpole lovers have it all January 4, 2014

Got this right before Dec. from Hong Kong, and will be ordering again from Sq.

LOVELY detail, and while #1 is not quite 100% done the fit makes this build one that moves right along, even the tricky area around the exhaust/wing join/wheel bays.  Office is nive enough to stand alone, or with replacement resin seats.  Surely Eduard will treat this kit but it does not need much.  CONS:  Wish they had gone w/ Snakeyes instead of the 'Slicks', though those from the Kinetic kit are highly useable.  BONUS PLUS:  One Piece Canopy!  HATED joining the clear parts in Kinetics kit.

So let's say you have the old R/M kit, should you splurge?  Yes, HB has indeed delivered the ordnance here.  "We're at the IP, stepping into ATTACK" (Cole, Virgil Cole).
